Innovation Generation: Reducing the Pacific Garbage Patch

Off the coast of California is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch: a floating island of plastic about three times the size of France.

Students will investigate the impact different types of plastics have on our ecosystem & design a new version of plastic using biodegradable materials.

Discovery Education and Stanley Black & Decker have joined forces to bring making and doing into classrooms nationwide. Together, this partnership will empower student learning with a premier, STEAM-focused, cross-disciplinary initiative that invites students and educators to explore their worlds through building, making, and doing.

Innovation Generation – Making an Impact ignites, engages, and empowers the makers in your classroom with digital resources created to cultivate collaboration, problem solving and STEAM skillsets in your students through real-world explorations.
