little free stem library project

Our STEM for All Kits program (formerly the STEM Little Free Library Project) works to address the need across Arizona communities to provide accessible STEM learning opportunities.

In collaboration with AVNET, the Flinn Foundation, and Arizona PBS, our team compiles monthly themed STEM kits for Little Free Libraries in schools and rural areas. Since March of 2022, we have sent thousands of these kits and and hundreds of books to locations in Coconino, Graham, Navajo, Maricopa, Mohave, and Yavapai counties.

Starting in 2025, STEM for All Kits are also offered in Spanish.

I was putting together a STEM kit to make sure everything fit inside. Later that day, the maintenance man came in and asked, “What are you doing?” I told him about the Little Free Library STEM kits AVNET sponsors and asked if he had any kids. He told me he did, so I gave him a STEM kit to give to his oldest child. I saw him the other day and asked if his son had put together any of the projects in the kit. He told me the Sunday before, his wife was home with the oldest, and they worked on the STEM kit together.

When he got home and opened the door he heard, “Daddy, Daddy, we made DNA!” He said his son was so excited and thanked me for giving him one of the kits and said, “If you do anything like that again, please let me know, my kid loved it.” I just thought that was so very awesome. Thanks again for getting us involved.
