STEM Unplugged is a monthly podcast by SciTech Institute that connects partners from all over Arizona to dive deeper into the wealth of STEM innovations, initiatives, and resources in our home state. Hosted by our Chief Operating Officer Kelly Greene, the show aims to get our listeners plugged into diverse, thriving network of opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. 

In celebration of #CSEdMonth, this episode of STEM Unplugged dives into all things Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) in Arizona. Join us to hear from our expert panelists Amanda Pulawski, Program Manager at American Express; Shilpa Dhopate, Engineering Director at American Express; Michael Wilson, Store Manager at GenTech Support; Serene Gallegos Suero, Engagement Manager at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS); Reginal Jackson, Infrastructure/DevOps Analyst at State Farm; and Jenna Esek, Education Specialist at Microsoft.

In this episode of STEM Unplugged, we will be sharing ways to Keep Cool with STEM over the summer. Our guests are John Adams, Deputy Director of Biosphere2, Sinda Sutton and Stefany Boleyn, Park Rangers at Kartchner Caverns State Park and Vanessa King, Director of Education at Tucson Children’s Museum. Each unique location and facility allows for hands on learning and immersive experiences with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

In this episode we are joined by STEAM experts Garth Paine, a professor of digital sound and interactive media at the School of Arts Media and Engineering at ASU and Evan Tobias, an associate professor of Music Learning and Teaching at Arizona State University’s School of Music, Dance and Theater, who share about ways to collaborate using music.

STEM Unplugged – STEM over the Summer was a discussion with collaborative nonprofit partners at Lowell Observatory, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Pathways to Learning. In this episode, Kelly, Tom and Elise explored ways for community members to engage in hands on STEM to find their identity as learners.
