Help us spread the word in Arizona about this exciting opportunity for STEM students! Learn about environmental topics through film-making and win cash prizes!

Dear Mr. Babendure

I thought your Arizona SciTech Ecosystem students might be interested in learning about the World of 7 Billion video contest. The contest challenges students to think critically and find solutions to pressing global sustainability issues. This year those issues are: Sustaining Water Systems, Ensuring Economic Opportunities, and Improving Climate Resiliency.

Students are asked to share their sustainable solution ideas in a 60-second video. Last year’s winning videos can be watched here.

This opportunity is available to all middle and high school students worldwide, and the deadline for submissions is February 27, 2020. Participating teachers receive free curriculum resources from Population Education, and over 80 cash prizes of up to $1,000 will be awarded to student winners.

Can you help us spread the word to your STEM students and networks?

How can you help?

  • Share the official contest flyer at your next meeting or other related event (we would also be happy to mail you physical copies of the flyer!)
  • Include the contest in your next member newsletter or other association outreach
  • Share contest information on social media
  • Send an email about the contest to your ListServ

You can find share-friendly language tailored to different platforms below. Feel free to edit them as you see fit, or let me know if you’d like me to provide a different length or twist.

We look forward to seeing the videos!

Best,
Andrea Moran
