Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival: Spring Creek & Oak Creek Valley Field Trip
Oak Creek Valley is a private community on the confluence of Oak Creek and Spring Creek. With a variety of habitats and designated nature trails, over 100 species have been identified over the years. The Gallery Forest, Spring Creek and habitat within the community offer up many neotropical migrants, riparian-dependent birds, raptors and a cast of local residents.

Lisa was introduced to wildlife, birds and the wonders and mysteries of nature as a child at her family cabin in Colorado. Her adventures took her around the world exploring the natural world. Upon arriving in Sedona in 2010 she was amazed at the variety of birds in the area and began her mentorship with Dena Greenwood studying Arizona birds and the art of birding my ear. A graduate of the Nature Guide Academy – participating in surveys and leading field trips for Audubon as well as the former steward for the Bubbling Ponds Preserve. She is the dedicated bird guide at a leading resort and guides privately as well. Lisa has been guiding for the bird festival for ten years and enjoys birding trips with the local birding broads all over Arizona.
