Town of Gilbert: Riparian Field Class – Beautiful Birds (#30763)
The Field Class Series will explore scientific topics through engaging activities set in the Riparian Preserve. Classes will take place on the third Wednesday of each month October- April, except December when the class will occur on the first Wednesday.
The Gilbert Riparian Preserve is well known for the wide variety of birds that call this place home or visit during migration. Learn about the diversity and special adaptations of birds. Take a birdwatching excursion through the park to learn about field markers and how to find and identify birds. Participants will make and take their own bird feeder home to continue the learning by participating in citizen science through Feeder Watch.
All classes will take place outdoors. Please bring water, wear a hat, close-toed shoes, and dress for the weather. Parents are welcome to attend, but not required. Materials will only be provided for registered participants.
