Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR for the healthcare provider and professional rescuer is the level of care used in life-threatening emergencies until the person can be given full medical attention at a hospital. Topics include sudden cardiac arrest, secondary cardiac arrest, high performance CPR for adult, child, and infant, single and multiple responders approach, BLS assessment, choking , and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Successful class completion includes proficiency of written exam and hands-on demonstration. Certification is valid for two years. Digital workbook and card included. A hard copy of the workbook will be available in class for $10.
