McDowell Sonoran Conservancy: Geology Educational Ride at Brown’s Ranch Trailhead

When, how, and why did all those different rocks get into the Preserve? How about our own earthquake fault?

This is an intermediate skills and moderate cardio ride that will take us through the various geological formations of the area. Get the big picture on a bike.

Location: Brown’s Ranch Trailhead

Skill level: Intermediate

Distance: ~11-12 miles

Time: ~3 hours

Please, no road bikes, hybrids, folding bikes, or electric assist bikes. All our rides are “no drop,” meaning we will not leave you. A bike with wide knobby tires is required. Please check the working order of your bike before you leave home. Helmets required. Bring water and snacks. Restrooms available at the trailhead. Arrive 15 minutes before start of ride.
