Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Petroglyph Hike

Hike through a canyon with a Ranger and learn about the Native Americans that once called these mountains home.

Hike with a ranger through a beautiful canyon on the 2 mile waterfall trail. As you hike you will pass petroglyphs carved by native Americans and be immersed in pristine desert landscapes.  A majority of the trail is paved but the trail becomes rocky and sandy as you near the waterfall itself. Please bring plenty of water and wear closed toed shoes. Before the hike check the weather and dress accordingly the canyon can be in the shade and will be cooler than the surrounding desert.  We will meet for the hike at 8:50 am at the waterfall trailhead. The waterfall only flows after prolonged heavy rain. Please no pets!
