Mesa Public Library: AAcoustic Sound Benefits to Plants

Urban farmer Ka-Linda Blackner from St. Vincent de Paul will be offering a horticulture talk on the benefits of acoustic sound to plants. Ka-Linda will speak on how sound affects plants, the history of tribal sound ceremonies for planting and growing crops, how plant roots, stomates and trichomes respond to sound, and how to use sound in your own backyard garden from Mozart to drum circles.

This program supports the City of Mesa’s Climate Action Plan (MCAP), a Mayor and Council priority initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, build resilience in our community, and address the negative outcomes of a changing climate.
