Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Silent Walking – A Beginner’s Guide to Connecting with Nature

November 8, 2024 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Free with Park Fee
Need a break from the world? Connecting with nature can be a great form of therapy for overstressed and anxious minds. If you’d like to learn how you can connect better with nature, this is for you!

Join Ranger Kevin as we learn how to make – or strengthen – our connection with nature through the practice of Silent Walking and Sit Spots. This is a beginner’s level class, so anyone who is interested in learning how to appreciate the natural world in greater depth is welcome. We will learn to relax, change our mindset, and allow our senses to unlock a closer and clearer experience of the Sonoran Desert. This program includes some walking on a very easy section of the Overton trail. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. Please, NO pets.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center amphitheater
No registration required.
