For students ready to go beyond TinkerCAD, this class introduces Blender, the same free, open-source 3D modeling software used by professional artists, game developers, and animators. Students learn to navigate 3D space, model with meshes and vertices, use path tools for organic shapes, apply modifiers, and understand concepts like topology and computational complexity.
Students who have maxed out TinkerCAD’s capabilities will find Blender opens up a whole new world of creative control with real curves, precise vertex editing, and professional-grade tools. Projects culminate in at least one 3D print you will take home, while other designs will be more experimental and complex digital renders.
