Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Plant Hike

Join Ranger Nikki on an easy to moderate hike to learn about the fascinating plant life in our Sonoran Desert.  

Join Ranger Nikki on a hike to learn about desert plants, shrubs and legume trees including bursage, palo verde and creosote and any monsoon vegetation that may be flourishing. The route uses Blevins, Spillway, Levee and a part of Crismon Wash Trails to make an approximate 4.5-mile loop. The terrain varies from flat and level to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, snacks a hat and sunscreen. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and at the trailhead.
