Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

The hike will cover 2.4 miles and gain 250 ft of elevation. The trail is rated as moderate and you can expect a few small inclines and some areas of rocky/ sandy trail. Please plan to use restrooms and fill up water at the fountains located at the nature center as you enter the park, as none are available at the trailhead. Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, and if you have mobility challenges, hiking poles are encouraged.
