Lowell Observatory: ORBITS CURIOSITY MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP – Astro-Instrumentation
Support your middle schooler’s exploration of science with fun, hands-on astronomy experiments.
Designed for students going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the fall, this year at middle school camp, students will learn about the different types of instruments used in astronomical research. Other activities will include hiking, drawing, playing games, and more. If your young scientist is interested in using instruments to collect astronomical information, this is the camp for them!
These activity-based, week-long day camps run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. They are for students going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the fall. This year at middle school camp, students will get a brief look into what astronomical research is like through fun, hands-on science experiments. From collecting data to presenting their results, students will dive deeper into the world of science. Other activities will include hiking, drawing, playing games, and more. If your young scientist is interested in gaining a telescope operating and collecting data with a spectrograph, this is the camp for them!
Pricing
Members: $350 per child
Non-members: $400 per child
Scholarships are available for those who demonstrate financial need.
No extended care is offered for middle school.
