Flagstaff Festival of Science: Explore, Learn, Discover – Geocaching at Tynkertopia

The whole family can experience geocaching – locating hidden treasure at specific latitude and longitude coordinates.
Use your smart phone and Google Maps to locate geocaches hidden in Bushmaster Park during Tynkertopia’s Geocaching Event. Each cache contains a STEAM Challenge to complete after the geocaching experience. The last cache will contain a small prize for each family that locates all the caches. Please bring a smart phone! Groups of 6 or less depart every 15 minutes each Sunday. Reservations are required and are available starting September 8th.Maximum of 6 per group.

Part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science 🎉

The Flagstaff Festival of Science is pleased to present “The Mammoth World of Science” September 22- October 1, 2023! The Festival features 10-days of engaging events and programs, all free, for the community to enjoy and celebrate the wonders of science!

This year’s theme has been designed to showcase the fascinating research and scientific discovery of Beth Shapiro, PhD.

The Festival offers a wide variety of presentations, hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, classroom talks and guided tours led by outstanding Flagstaff scientists and STEAM professionals. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to learn about ancient cultures, the environment of the Colorado Plateau, wildlife, astronomy and biology, as well as many topics at the intersection of the sciences and the arts.

Festival events highlight the innovative research happening right here in Flagstaff! Events are held in a variety of venues and institutions throughout northern Arizona.
