Arizona State University: ARRIVAL with author Ted Chiang

A linguist (Amy Adams) works with the military to communicate with alien lifeforms after twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world.

The 2016 film is based on “Story of Your Life” a novella by award-winning science fiction author Ted Chiang. Following the screening, Chiang will discuss both the story and the film and answer audience questions.

This event is a continuation of Humanities Institute Distinguished Lecture – Exhalation and Other Worlds with Ted Chiang on February 15th, 2024 and is co-sponsored by ASU’s Center for Science and Imagination.
