Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Silent Sitting – A Beginner’s Guide to Connecting with Nature

October 10, 2024 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free with Park Fee
Join Ranger Shaun for some light stretching, basic guided meditation, and to learn some basic techniques to help you build or re-build a child-like connection with nature.

Put aside the world for a while and join Ranger Shaun as he contemplates the color of the grass, the shape of leaves, and the smell of the dirt. Bring a blanket or a towel, stretch a bit and relax on the ground or a picnic table, and feel what the day has to say. If you’re for familiar with mindfulness practices this class will likely be familiar to you, but if meditation is new to you, yoga is fresh, and mindfulness is a big, scary word you’ve seen on the internet, then this class is for you!

Dress comfortably for the weather, water bottles required (lemon optional) and towels or blankets to sit on strongly encouraged. Sunscreen recommended. Hassayampa River Preserve does not allow pets.
