Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

Join Ranger Derik on a 3 mile out and back hike as the sun goes down and learn about the wildlife that calls the Sonoran Desert home. Once the stars come out the blacklights turn on as we hunt for the 3 species of scorpion found at Estrella Regional Park. The trails are rated as moderate and can be rocky loose and steep in some places. Please make sure to have a flashlight and extra batteries along with plenty of water. If you have a blacklight once the sun goes down, you can help with the scorpion hunting! Bathrooms and water fountains are available at the at the trailhead. Please no pets
MEETING LOCATION: Coldwater trailhead in the staging area
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 7/30/24.
