Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Guided Bird Walk

November 16, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Free with Park Fee

Join Ranger Eric for a guided bird walk to look and listen for resident and migrant species of the Sonoran Desert. Along the way we will discuss how to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the behavioral and ecological traits that make them unique. We will walk 0.5-1 mile along the Tortoise Trail from the Nature Center and possibly over to the campground as time allows. Hiking will be easy, but with occasionally uneven surfaces. Binoculars may be available to borrow at the Nature Center, but please bring your own if you have them. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and carry ample water for yourself.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center. See park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/mcdowell-8×11.pdf

Limit 10 participants. To register, please email Ranger Eric (eric.hough@maricopa.gov) with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Wednesday, 11/15/23.
