Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert Edible Plants

July 7, 2024 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Free with Park Fee
Hike through pristine Sonoran Desert and riparian habitat with Ranger Derik and learn about the many edible and medicinal plants that can be found along the trail.

The hike will cover sections of the Metate and Spur Cross trails for a total of 3 miles on moderate rated trails. The trails can be rocky, sandy and steep in a few sections so make sure you have proper footwear and if you have trouble with balance we encourage the use of hiking poles. There are bathrooms at the trailhead but there is no water in the park so make sure to bring plenty with you. Please no pets!

MEETING LOCATION: Covered picnic tables

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call Cave Creek Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
