City of Tempe: Community CPR
August 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$30
Learn lifesaving CPR and AED skills from Tempe Fire Medical Rescue paramedics in a hands-on, approachable class designed for everyday residents.
90% of cardiac arrests happen at home, and in Tempe more than half of bystander CPR in 2024 was started by family members or non-family bystanders before crews arrived. This class is designed to help you feel more prepared and confident stepping in to help during those critical first moments of an emergency. The class teaches CPR and AED skills for adults, children and infants and is intended for community members with little or no medical training. This course will include training on the use of Narcan and dealing with overdoses as well as optional take home Narcan kits.
Participants are required to complete a short (30-minute) online course before attending the in-person skills session. Instructions for completing the online portion will be emailed one week before the class date. For questions, contact Captain Kevin Johnston at [email protected].
