Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

August 6 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free with Park Fee

We will be looking for wildlife in the dark so make sure to pack flashlights and blacklights, if you have them, and make sure everything is charged or has extra batteries. We will be hiking along a portion of the Pemberton trail to start and then connect onto the Scenic trail for a total of 2 miles during our safari! This portion of the trail is rated easy-moderate with some rocky/uneven parts as well as some sandy areas, please be sure to wear close-toed shoes. There are restrooms and water at the trailhead but still be sure to bring plenty of water as it will be warm during this time. Please no pets!

PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parksis the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.

MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead Staging Area. Be aware that it will take an ADDITIONAL 5-10 minutes to get to the meeting location AFTER entering the park’s entry booth.
