National Park Service: Astronomy Nights at Wahweap Amphitheater
July 24 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Free with Park Fee
Park Rangers will work in concert with local astro-volunteers to conduct informal astronomical interpretation at the parking lot for the Wahweap Amphitheater. Rangers will bring GLCA telescopes and choose a variety of subjects to focus on throughout the evening.
Please be aware of your headlights and take care not to shine them at the rangers or telescopes. Children should be accompanied by adults. Pets on leash must keep clear of the telescopes in order to maintain the safety of the tripods.
In the event of cloud cover, rain, lightning, or other poor weather conditions, this event will be cancelled.
There is an entrance fee to go to Wahweap. There is no additional fee to attend the program.
The Wahweap amphitheater is located in the Wahweap Campground, across from the campground store. From the intersection of Lakeshore Dr and Wahweap Dr, go straight for about 1000 ft, then turn left at the “Wahweap Campground” sign. This parking lot also hosts the RV dump station.
