Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources: Minerals and Makeup
Even if you don’t use makeup yourself, you probably know someone who does.
For more than 7000 years humans have been using mineral powders as makeup. Each culture has its own reasons for using makeup. Even today people might wear it for work, for medical reasons, for fashion, or just for fun. Minerals help you show the world the “me” you want the world to see.
Minerals Make It is a video series where 3rd through 7th graders can explore how we use minerals in our daily lives and where we get those mineral from.
Learn more about minerals in our lives at https://minerals.arizona.edu/engagement.
