Raising Dragons: Spinning Forks Experiment

Place a quarter in the center slots of two forks so they are held tightly in place.

Then balance the quarter on the lid of a water bottle. The quarter stands up quite easily and even spins without falling. This is because the center of gravity of the forks/quarter is at the tip of the quarter.
