
Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: 100 Miles in 100 Days Nature Hike
We will hike all of the Preserve’s trails while learning about the flora, fauna, and diverse ecosystem of this desert riparian area with Ranger Eric. Most of the trails are fairly flat along the lake and river, but with some occasional sand or uneven terrain. We will end the hike with the short, but steep climb up to Lykes Lookout, which gives a fantastic view of the surrounding area. There is a bench at the base of Lykes Lookout in case anyone doesn’t feel comfortable doing that portion of the hike and wants to wait to go back with the others in the group. Altogether, we will hike about 3.1 miles roundtrip.

Limit 12 participants. To register, please call the Visitor Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Friday, 1/5/24.
