Yavapai County Free Library District: Flora for Hikers – Edible Native Plants for Hikers and Survivalists

Whether you are hiking for fun or surviving to, well survive, edible plants may contribute significantly to your success or failure. 

We will also include a few plants that are hazardous to your health, either due to physical or chemical aspects.  Arizona has 4,000 species, so confusion is common.  We’ll help to clear the air, cover season of use and several resources to help you build your knowledge base for future use.  Use it or lose it, as they say.  Some of these plants may even be suitable in your landscape at home.
