Yavapai College: Journey Into, Through, and Beyond a Story – With STEAM Explorations!

Explore new stories and activities, and some old favorites with a fun new spin! We’ll start with a fairy tale, fable, or other fun story; explore “What if…?” and “I wonder…?” questions, based on the text; and dive into related STEAM activities. Create a “beanstalk” that supports a castle, and features a zipline escape route (Jack and the Beanstalk); design a Plinko game (The Rock That Rolled; The Boys and the Frogs); invent a “Rube Goldberg Contraption” (Just Like Rube Goldberg); predict and discover how adding a variable changes ice cream (Little Red Riding Hood; Hansel and Gretel); and more!
