Watershed Management Group: Bat Night – River Run Network Creek Walk & Clean Up
August 16, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Free
We are back with our 3rd annual Bat Night!
Come out to help clean up the Rillito and see the Mexican free-tailed bats take flight while hearing from Debbie C. Buecher, M.S., an expert with 35 years of experience working with bats.
We will begin this event with cleaning up the Rillito River near Campbell Ave, continuing to reduce the amount of trash that flows through our creeks and rivers. Then, near sunset we will hear from Debbie Buecher and watch our furry flying friends fly out from under the bridge.
We will provide all you need for removing trash (bags, grabbers, and gloves), and you are welcome to bring your own supplies as well. Please also bring a headlamp as we will be out in the creek past sunset watching the bats fly.
We invite all persons interested to attend this event. We welcome you in terms of education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs and more.
This event is organized through WMG’s River Run Network (RRN). Members work together to learn about and steward our creeks and rivers through creek walks, restoration activities, river clean-ups, and educational workshops. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the RRN when you register for this event. Membership is free and includes a regular e-newsletter with upcoming events.
