Tucson Bird Alliance: Fort Lowell Park Field Trip

April 2 @ 7:15 am - 9:15 am

Free – $5

Fort Lowell Park, an urban park located in central Tucson, draws a wide variety of bird species with its habitat mix of open fields, desert scrub, and trees. We’ll look for wintering ducks such as American Wigeons on the pond, flycatchers like the brilliant Vermilion Flycatcher along the field edges, woodpeckers in the pecan grove, and common desert scrub birds. We hope to see 20-30 species. Meet at the picnic pavilion near the pond next to the main parking lot off Craycroft. Bring your binoculars. Wrap up around 9:15 am. Limit 10 participants.

Leader: Daphne Sewing, kestrel5102@gmail.com

Trip difficulty: Easy. 1-1.5 mile loop on mostly level ground, paved & grassy surfaces with uneven areas. Restroom facilities & water available.

Meet at the picnic pavilion near the pond next to the main parking lot off Craycroft.

**Registration for Tucson Bird Alliance Members is free. Non-members can join this field trip for a non-refundable fee of $5.**
