$50.00

Welcome to our new Engineering in the Park program, where participants have the chance to learn and create with the guidance of professional engineers, Colleen and Ben. This program will include a series of different activities. The first activity will include learning about sound, and creating a speaker from scratch! Registration includes supplies, and participants will be able to take home their creations.

About Colleen and Ben:

Colleen has always enjoyed math and physics and knew she wanted to do some kind of engineering from a young age, especially having her dad as an engineering influence. She went to school at Purdue for mechanical engineering and went directly into the aerospace industry. In addition to engineering, Colleen also enjoys learning ASL, doing house projects, and rock-climbing in her off time.

Ben served in the U.S. army for 7 years where he his passion for refurbishing, building, and engineering grew. After his service, he continued his passion in the aerospace industry performing both mechanical and electrical technician tasks including wiring, soldering, and component installation, testing, and rework. In his off time, Ben enjoys designing, 3D printing, and all types of hands on crafts and activities. Eventually he would like to take his hobbies and make them a career.
