The University of Arizona: Reading Strategies for the Math Classroom
April 9, 2025 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Free
Reading is essential for making sense of problems.
In this session hosted by CPM, we will offer a variety of ways to engage with text and experience routines that support students in the thinking processes required to understand math tasks. By fostering more independence with reading, we can offer more mathematical experiences to our students.
Outcomes:
- Consider the thinking processes involved in reading a math problem.
- Experience structures and routines that support reading in mathematics.
- Reflect on supporting sense making in problem-based learning.
