Unlock the surprising ways proportional reasoning fuels functional thinking. We’ll explore how students use co-variation and rate of change to make sense of linear, exponential, and even recursive patterns in sequences. Learn how to leverage these connections through representation-rich tasks that build a strong conceptual bridge from ratios → sequences → functions. You’ll leave with strategies that help students recognize structure, anticipate growth, and see functions as natural extensions of the reasoning they already do.
