The University of Arizona: IMPACTS MS – Promoting Problem Solving in Middle School Mathematics

September 9, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Middle school mathematics is instrumental for making sense of and impacting the world. It helps students understand such important ideas as ratios, proportional reasoning, percent change, negative numbers, expressions, equivalence, equality, similarity, and functional thinking. This is why it is so important that middle school mathematics instruction emphasize conceptualization and problem solving, not just formulas and answer-getting.

Come join us as we explore the wide world of middle school mathematics and how its rich instruction can open doors for students in mathematics and beyond.
