The University of Arizona: IMPACTS High School – Building Thinking Classrooms. What’s All the Fuss About?

This is an introduction to the 14 instructional practices that help students think more, puzzle longer, and find success in mathematics. This workshop provides an overview to introduce the research and powerful results of Building Thinking Classrooms. Teachers will EXPERIENCE a Building Thinking Classroom and learn the first steps to adjust their classroom to be more of a thinking classroom.

We will discuss how “Building Thinking Classrooms” meets the significant needs of diverse learners and supports a Universal Design for Learning framework.

**NOTE: Participants will be expected to take a task back to their classrooms, collect and analyze student work, and share their reflections with the CRR.

Date:              Saturday, August 10, 2024

Time:            8:30am-12:30pm (4 hours with a break)

Location:        Hybrid: In-person at UArizona Tucson Campus. Remote via Zoom.

Earn:          Up to 5 hours of professional development credit for recertification.
