The University of Arizona: IMPACTS Elementary – Digging Deep into Geometry

How can students discover geometric properties, attributes, and structures through exploration? Come experience the world of geometry in a new way. Look at figures and shapes in new ways, and discover new relationships. Participants will experience investigations designed to support 3rd-5th grade students’ discovery and conceptualization of geometric properties, attributes, and structures. Participants will explore the optimal progression for learning big ideas of geometry. Geometry is an area with significant misconceptions, come and uncover these.
