The University of Arizona: IMPACTS Elementary – Addition and Subtraction

Addition and subtraction are the foundation of elementary mathematics. These operations intentionally and systematically grow from work in Kindergarten through grade 3, culminating in fluency with addition and subtraction in grade 4. How do we help students move along the path? What strategies will build the concept clearly and understandably? Come and explore the conceptual path and strategies to move students to a deeper understanding of addition and subtraction.
**NOTE: Participants will be expected to take a task back to their classrooms, collect and analyze student work, and share their reflections with the CRR.
Date: Saturday, September 14, 2024
Time: 8:30am-12:30pm (4 hours with a break)
Location: Hybrid: In-person at UArizona Tucson Campus. Remote via Zoom.
Earn: Up to 5 hours of professional development credit for recertification.
