McDowell Sonoran Conservancy: Surviving and Thriving in the Sonoran Desert – Educational Walk

March 13, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Welcome! Join us for a guided adventure in the beautiful McDowell Sonoran Preserve. We have something for everyone. The Conservancy relies on the generosity of donors to support our conservation efforts in the Preserve. Your contributions help us mitigate invasive species, restore burned areas, and monitor wildlife to identify current and future threats. To participate, we suggest a minimum donation of $10 per person, but feel free to give what you feel is appropriate. Your donation directly supports the protection of the Preserve and is tax-deductible. Read below for important details and then sign up!

Description

This walk will discuss how the Indigenous people of the Sonoran Desert used plants to survive. We will identify these plants and discuss how they were processed and utilized in their daily lives. Our walks are usually short (around one mile in length) and easy. They often explore the interpretive trails of the Preserve, which are very accessible and near the trailheads. Activities begin promptly at the start time, please arrive 15 minutes before the start to prepare and check-in.
