The namesake waterfall of Waterfall Trail is seasonal. It comes and goes with the winter and monsoon rains. This means that for much of the year Waterfall Trail is, well, waterfall-less. While this is sometimes disappointing, it gives Ranger Shaun a good reason to go up the trail regularly to see just exactly when the waterfall comes and goes every year. Why is it so important to Ranger Shaun? Because when the waterfall shows up so do frogs, toads, and tons of insects! The whole population of the trail can change overnight! This is a roughly 2-mile hike on an easy rated trail. The first and last half mile are paved. Water and restrooms are available at the trailhead. Water bottles and closed toe shoes are required for the hike.
