Ranger Nikki will lead you on an easy walk through the Pollinator Garden, a new feature in the park that provides food and habitat for a variety of desert creatures. We will look for hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and more as the sun dips behind the mountains. We will also walk the sidewalk in the picnic area to see if any nocturnal critters are stirring about, such as scorpions, bats, owls, tarantulas, kangaroo rats, stink bugs and more. The terrain in the Garden is flat compacted gravel and the sidewalk is concrete. The total distance walked will be one mile maximum. Bring your blacklight and a regular flashlight. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center on your way in and at Area 5 (just beyond the meetup location). Please bring $7 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
