Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Sunset Hike

Walk a western facing section of Clay Mine trail as the sun sets to enjoy one of Arizona’s legendary sunsets.

Water and restrooms will be available near the trailhead.

This hike includes segments of Overton, Clay Mine, and Go John Trail. These trails are rated, respectively, moderate, easy, and moderate-difficult. These rating reflect the overall difficulty of the entire trail. The sections of the trails we will be walking on this hike, should all fall in the moderate category.

Closed toed shoes and water bottle required, flashlight recommended as it will be twilight moving towards dark when we come off the trail.

Limit 15 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 9/11/25.
