Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

The hike will be on a section of the Slate trail and participants will cover 3 miles during the program. The trail is rated as easy but expect some loose rock and sandy sections if you have balance issues or bad knees hiking poles are strongly encouraged. We will be looking for wildlife in the dark so make sure to pack flashlights and blacklights if you have them make sure everything is charged or have extra batteries. Bathrooms can be found at the trailhead and a water fountain is available at the nature center (the doors of the nature center will close at 4 PM). Please no pets!

To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 9/17/24. Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
