Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

Hike sections of the Baseline and Gila trails for 2.3 miles. This trail is rated as moderate so expect a few uphill sections as well as trail that can be rocky and loose at times. Even though we will be hiking in the evening it will still be hot you are encouraged to bring 2 liters of water as well as a flashlight that has extra batteries. There is a water fountain and bathrooms at the nature center but not at the Gila Trailhead so please plan accordingly. If you have blacklight please bring it along and help us search for scorpions.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call Estrella Regional Park at 602-506-2930 #6 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 6/27/24.
