Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Hike

The hike will on easy, flat and rolling sandy trail. Hikers should bring water, wear close toed shoes and bring a flashlight with full charge or new batteries. If you have a blacklight feel free to bring along to help the ranger search for scorpions when the sun sets. A porta potty is located at the trailhead and water can be found at the nature center.
PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 8/11/26.
