Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Hike

The hike will cover 3 miles with an elevation gain of just 125 ft on sandy, level trail. Please wear hiking boots or sneakers. If you have difficulty with balance hiking poles are strongly encouraged. Every hiker needs a flashlight and if you have blacklights feel free to bring them to help the ranger search for scorpions. There is no water at the trailhead so please bring plenty with you or stop by the water fountain outside the Nature Center as you pass by. Bathrooms can be found on the right just before you arrive at the North Trail trailhead.

Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext.3 with your name, phone number, and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 5/5/2025
