Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Riparian Hike

The hike will follow sections of the Spur Cross and Metate Trails for 3 miles as the path moves from desert landscape down into riparian habitat. Hikers will be rewarded with impressive Saguaro Cacti and a variety of cholla species. The trail is rated as easy, but it can be sandy and rocky at times so make sure to wear proper footwear and please bring plenty of water. There are no water fountains at the trailhead so please plan accordingly.

MEETING LOCATION: Picnic Tables in front of the trailer at the trail kiosks, just past the entry station

Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Annual Pass or exact CASH are accepted, no change can be made. Payment can be made in iron rangers at Spur Cross parking lot nearby at end of road.
