Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Plant Hike

Enjoy a guided nature hike along some of our trails to see all the beauty the desert plants have to offer. We will begin on Merkle trail, move onto Vista trail, and then connect back onto Merkle trail to finish. This hike begins level and then is an uphill climb to the top of Vista peak for a total of 160 feet of elevation and about 1.5 miles. Bring any questions you have about the plants that reside in the desert. Restrooms and water are not available at the trailhead.

Limit 15 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 01/22/26.
