Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Pipeline South Ecosystem Hike

September 19, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free with Park Fee
A late morning walk on the lovely Pipeline Canyon Trail with Ranger Shaun.

As the weather ever so slowly cools, short mid-day hikes become viable again! Join Ranger Shaun for this 1-mile round trip hike on a medium rated trail. The halfway point is a lake cove, though the water level will likely be too low to easily access the water. We’ll be discussing relationships between plants, their pollinators, and how entire ecosystems are ultimately built on those relationships.

Closed toed shoes and water bottles with drink water (sports drinks acceptable) required. Sunscreen and hat or other sun protection recommended.

MEETING LOCATION: Pipeline Canyon Trailhead

Precise Meeting Location:

Limit 15 participants. To register, please email Ranger Shaun at shaun.barnett@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 09/17/25.

PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online or call the Nature Center before coming to the park.
