Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Pemberton Pond Hike – Echoes of the Past

January 10, 2025 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Free with Park Fee
Join Ranger Jacque on a quest to discover how the past is shaping our future on this enlightening hike.

This hike takes you on a journey through Pemberton trail and through time, offering a unique glimpse into the area’s natural beauty interwoven with its rich history. This 3-mile roundtrip (out and back) hike, set on mostly level yet rocky terrain, will lead you to the remnants of a bygone era, where the land tells tales of early settlers and their interactions with this rugged landscape. As modern fire events continue to change this landscape, how might Arizona desert homes and life evolve into the future? Come find out. Please remember to wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, bring plenty of water, and keep well-behaved dogs on a leash.

For those participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge (Nov. 1-Feb. 8), this hike is a great way to work towards your goal! For more information about the challenge, visit  https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/things-to-do/activity/100-miles-in-100-days-challenge.
